How About Designing Your Own Wedding Dress?
As you probably have begun to realize, planning a wedding is both exciting and often more than a little nerve-wracking. Preparing for a ceremony as special as a wedding is plenty of cause for excitement and anticipation. However, there is so much to do and, most likely, since you'll want it to all go perfectly that's plenty of cause for anxiety and stressed nerves. And when you consider that it isn't the kind of thing we do on a regular basis, nor something that we normally have any training for, you need to ease up a little on the quest for perfection and try to focus on the excitement.

Your wedding dress is likely to be the most significant component of the wedding ceremony. Everyone's eyes will be on the bride. Whatever style of wedding you settle on, you'll find that there's a lot of traditions that relate to the wedding ceremony - even with some of the more unusual themed weddings. Still, there is room for you to add your own special touches - to make your wedding uniquely your own.

If you've never thought about actually designing your own wedding dress, you should give it some thought. If you've priced wedding dresses, you'll be aware that even low-end brands may cost over 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Dresses sold by bridal shops tend to include a lot of overhead and additional costs which you can avoid by designing your own wedding dress. If you have a friend or relative who is well-skilled in sewing, you can save even more money. One of the greatest benefits of designing your own wedding dress is that you will end up with a true one of a kind, a wedding dress no one else owns.

One caution - before you start designing be certain that you have or can find a person with the needed skills to actually create your wedding dress from your designs and ideas. This is not something you can wait until the last minute to do. You'll need to spend some significant time working with this person - well in advance of the wedding - so make sure of both the person's skills and availability.
A good place to start generating ideas for your wedding dress design is to consider the theme of the wedding and when and where it'll be held. Is it going to be a summer wedding? A winter wedding? Will it be outdoors or indoors? Will the reception be indoors or outdoors? What special characteristics does the location have? This is particularly important for an outdoor wedding since the answers can have a significant bearing on the style of wedding dress you design. As an example, an outdoor wedding in Texas in the month of August requires a wedding dress design that will not leave you soaked in perspiration. You should also consider how formal or informal the wedding ceremony itself will be.
If you don't already have some ideas for a design, a good place to start may be with bridal magazines, wedding dress catalogs and even on-line bridal shops. All these can be good sources for ideas to use in designing your own wedding dress.
While you are always free to design your wedding dress to reflect your personal style, most likely you'll want to follow one of the standard shapes generally used for wedding dresses:
A-line - Empire - Straight - Ball Gown - Mermaid - Strapless.
The shape of your body is an important factor in choosing a wedding dress shape that is most appropriate for you. If you have a full figure, or what is considered a "pear" shape, an A-line style dress may work best for you. A dress with this style accents the top-half of the body which is smaller while concealing a larger bottom half.
Not many women tend to opt for a straight wedding dress, including women with coke-bottle figures for whom this style of wedding dress was designed.
If neither of these styles seems to suit you, then a ball gown may be a good choice. This style of wedding dress has a snugger fit at the waist with a somewhat exaggerated full skirt.
A strapless style can be integrated with several shapes. The so-called mermaid style tends to be somewhat uncomfortable and not particularly popular. If you feel uncertain about what shape may work best for you, you can always visit a bridal shop and try on several styles to find the one that appeals most to you.
Once you have chosen the shape, design and style for your wedding dress, you are ready to consider the type of material. Silk and linen are both commonly used in creating wedding dresses. Both can be fairly costly and linen, in particular, tends to be quite delicate and require considerable care when putting the wedding dress together. There are also blended materials which use silk or linen along with other man-made materials allowing the creation of a fabric which is both beautiful and substantially easier to work with.
Once you've decided on the shape and design, and chosen the fabric, it's time to get together with the individual who will be making the wedding dress for and begin bringing the wedding dress of your dreams out of your dreams and into reality.

Favorite Pink Dress
The adults used to say to us "Pink to make the boys wink", and traditionally its always been a lovely feminine colour regardless of current fashion trends.
When you wear pink you will feel relaxed about your femininity, and it is a colour of love also so it works well when worn in romantic situations. Even in the work situation pink can be quietly assertive.
There has been a resurgence of pink on the catwalks this season and also in the shops, which yet again is another sign of fashion
wanting to be brighter and lighter during the economic difficulties.
Now with this season's colour blocking trends you have a choice of matching the more girly pinks against the bolder, striking shades of pink. This can be done with a fantastic effect both with other shades of pink as well as other colours.
Looking at New York's Fashion week in spring, the overall feel was kind of sweet, retro with free and easy feminine.

A pink dress is the perfect addition to any wardrobe, and if chosen cleverly should stand the test of time.

Choose a pink dress that accentuates the tone of your skin and the colour of your hair. Look for a flowing, smooth line that can adapt easily to different trends with jewellery, hair accessories and belts.
Ideally choose a dress that has the flexibility to dress up or dress down. Materials such as cotton, jersey, lycra or blends work well. Depending on your personality and lifestyle you may wish to go for floral prints, or bold print, plain pinks or contrast colour blocking.
The softer shades of pink are salmon pink and variations of this shade, whereas fuschias and hot pinks are vibrant options.
So mix in with your chosen pink shade and style, the latest dress styles, such as asymmetrical or cocoon hem. Or choose a clasically feminine ditsy pink print summer dress.
Forget about the traditional association with children and being too young, this season opens up the possiblity to wear pink in new ways. It is no longer necessary to wear pink and be too much of a "nice girl."
Now it's time to wear pink in style, but with some frivolity at the same time if you like!
There are two distinct shade categories; the romantic and the bright and fizzy.
The trick is to have not too much little girly, sickly sweet pink so to balance this out with accessories or colour blocking. Less is more, and the same applies when your main shade is the fizzy, bright pink. Mute this down with a paler shade somewhere in your outfit, whether it be the clothes, shoes or jewellery.
Accessories are always a key ingredient in your successful fashion outfit, so sometimes the easiest way to embrace pink can be with complementary accessories.
Don't forget that there is also a huge range of pinks in make up around, and these make-up shades go from wonderfully bold shades which are great in lipsticks
or nail polish, to the more dewy variations.
Enjoy being pretty in pink.
Pink Prom-Wedding Gown-Weeding Dress
Pink color comes in many shades that apply to dresses also. Choose the one suits you and look to its best advantage.
Glorify you with the right shade of pink. Pink with salmon tinges can be soft and flattering for all skin tones.
A ballet pink with a hint of gold work is good for fair skinned women and beautifies them. Hot pinks and fuschias can pop against darker hair and skin tones.
You can also wear pink dress in contrast with other colors like with black, navy, brown or gray for a fairer look. For a sharp corporate look in pink dress try a navy wrap sweater or brown blazer. For more sophisticated look in the pink dress wear accessories with it. It will give you an edge over others. Pearl necklace
and demure nude flats looks very classic with pink dress in any special occasion.
Prom Elegant-Elegant Wedding-Elegant Gown-
Elegant Two Tone Wedding Gowns

Looking for a wedding gown that is both hot off the runway and also very elegant? One of the most beautiful trends in gowns for 2009 is the two tone effect. These gowns have a subtle contrast that makes them look special and unique.

Two tone gowns are a lovely way to take your dress beyond basic, without necessarily doing anything too avant garde. The contrasting tones are usually subtle, such as white and ivory, ivory and champagne, or cream with blush. There are a variety of different ways in which the two colors can be juxtaposed.

One of the simplest two tone concepts is to have a contrasting sash on the wedding gown. This is a very easy way to add a bit of interest to a clean silhouette. A very pretty look is to pull out the color from the sash into your accessories. For instance, if you have chosen a gown that is ivory with a blush colored sash, then look for pearl bridal jewelry in gentle shades of blush or rose. The soft colors of the pearl bridal jewelry will both accent the special feature on your gown and bring attention back up to the bride's face, where it belongs.

Peek-a-boo layers are another type of two tone gown design. The skirt of the gown will feature tiers in the main color of the dress, and then they will split to show a contrasting color underneath. The layers can be split wide open so that the second color is always showing, or they can float open as the bride moves, revealing the secret underneath.

A very pretty two tone wedding gown style is the double layered dress. In this style, there is one solid piece of fabric, either a sheer or a lace, layered on top of the second color. This is a great option for the bride who is afraid of cutting up her silhouette with bands of contrasting colors (particularly true for petite brides). It allows you to have the depth and interest of two tones without any distracting breaks in the dress. For an autumn wedding, consider choosing a color like a rich mocha, layered under an all-over cream lace. The deeper shade underneath will help the design of the lace to really pop.

Another place to create a two tone effect is on the bodice of the gown. To give the illusion of a smaller waist, some gowns have wide panels in one shade deeper than the rest of the gown. For another point of interest, you can even layer a ribbon in a third shade as a tie around the waist.

Sometimes the center panel will also feature design elements such as a wide piece of lace, or a special embroidered accent.

When choosing your veil, what usually works the best is to match the color of the tulle to the main color of the dress, and any trim to the deeper shade on your gown. So if you are wearing a silk white wedding dress with a contrasting blush sash, choose a veil that is also diamond white, perhaps with a blush satin bias trim around the edge. If you match the tulle to the darker shade from the dress, you run the risk of making the white part of the gown look dingy by comparison.

A two tone gown is a great way to indulge in a current bridal trend without looking trendy. It is a subtle enough effect that it will stand the test of time. This allows brides the wonderful feeling that their wedding day look is both current and classic.

How to Make Your Body Prom Dress Ready
A beautiful prom dress deserves a beautiful body to carry it. Toned muscles, soft skin, and luscious hair all play a key role in your prom night beauty. Even if you have a designer prom dress that fits like a dream, you will still be displaying parts of your body that must be ready to accept the attention. Nothing makes a designer prom dress more beautiful and more perfectly fitted than healthy skin, hair, and muscles.
The first step toward a beautiful body is general fitness. Physical fitness tends to have beneficial effects on nearly every aspect of your body.
With a proper amount of physical activity and good nutrition, your skin should be glowing, and your hair will be healthy and strong. Your back and shoulders will also look sexy and toned if you are wearing a strapless or backless prom dress.

You do not need to devote your life to the gym or submit to a starvation diet to achieve an appropriate level of physical fitness. Simply be sure that you are accomplishing a moderate amount of physical activity throughout your day (approximately one hour per day for teenagers) and eating foods that are high in nutritional value and low in sugar and fat.
How to Look Absolutely Stunning In Your Prom Dress
Prom night is one of the first times in a teenage girl’s life when she gets to experience the glamorous lifestyle of a princess. Fancy prom dresses, boys in tuxedos, and prom royalty all contribute to the larger-than-life feeling of the prom.
Start Preparing Early: Prom night only comes around every so often, and it is definitely worth the time invested in proper preparation. For the perfect look that is trendy and comfortable, you should begin checking out stores and boutiques for new prom dress styles at least three to four months before your prom.
This will allow you to find the perfect dress without feeling stressed, rushed, or unprepared. By looking for your dress a couple of months before your prom, you will have time to schedule any necessary alterations for the perfect, tailored look. You will be able to try on dresses in a number of different colors and cuts to find the dress that was designed just for you and your body.
Find Your Perfect Prom Dress Look: Prom dresses come in a variety of different styles and cuts, ranging from over-the-top wild to simple and demure. To feel comfortable and look beautiful at the prom, it is important that you find a prom dress that is within your comfort zone, but slightly more glamorous than what you would normally wear.
Consider What to Wear Under the Dress: For the right look in your prom dress, you will need to think about what to wear on the inside and outside. A beautiful prom dress can be unfortunately marred by the wrong underwear and bra. Look for a bra that fits you well and is consistent with the style of your dress. This bra will save you from the embarrassment of falling or visible straps, so it is definitely worth the investment. You should also always remember to check for panty lines when you choose a pair of underwear to wear with your dress, especially if it is a sleek style.
